This event serves as our primary fundraiser to help fund the multitude of events and programs our organization hosts throughout the year. Your ticket grants you access to an afternoon of:

Why Your Presence Matters: Funding Our Mission Brown Girl Empowerment Inc. is dedicated to the social wellness and leadership development of Black and Brown girls of all ages. Your attendance at this celebration is more than a ticket—it is an investment in our 2026 initiatives.Proceeds from this event directly fund our year-round programs, including:
- Expansion of School Programs & Workshops: Bringing essential leadership and wellness curriculum to more classrooms in 2026.
- Talent Showcases & Productions: Providing a stage for our girls to express their creativity and build confidence in their brilliance.
- Educational Trips & Exposure: Funding travel and experiences that expose our girls to new career paths and cultural enrichment outside their immediate communities.
- Mentorship & Social Wellness: Strengthening our community-based support systems to ensure every girl has the tools to thrive in society.
$25 helps fund supplies for one community workshop.
$50 covers the cost for one girl to attend a leadership production.
$100 sponsors a local educational trip for a deserving student.

Join us on March 18, 2026 at 6:00 PM for the unveiling of the exciting new release OLYOKEby author Vincent Endwell. Joining Endwell in conversation will be authorOF Cieri (BACKMASK). AboutOLYOKE: Welcome to Olyoke, Tennessee: home to a Dollywood-style theme park, generations of troubled families, mysterious plagues, and the prophecies of a dead architect turned cult leader who has foretold a fiery cataclysm. As the time of the fire nears, inexplicable events compound: Darcy, a Dolly Parton impersonator, finds strange worms in the swamp and feeds them to her dog, who begins to speak with the voice of Darcy's dead mother; Recently divorced Lyle Knox is called through its dreams by a strange house, and soon discovers that Lyle Knox itself is not a person, but a structure; Maggie Warner organizes a theater production to stave off her gnawing misery and becomes convinced that only the people she sees in her dreams are real. Moreover, the Whistler—the man Maggie becomes when she sleeps—welcomes the town’s impending Judgment with open arms. Many destinies will converge in Olyoke. None will escape unchanged. “Lures you into the crevice between Weird fiction and Appalachian horror where something inscrutable yet warm has been gestating. You will come back different.” About the speakers: Vincent Endwell originally hails from unceded Onondaga territory (Central New York). Their work has been published previously in Dark Horses Magazine, Corvid Queen, and Your Body is Not Your Body, an anthology from Tenebrous Press, among others. OF Cieri is based out of NYC. In 2013 she won first place in BMCC's Poetry Competition. In 2016 she won an Honourable Mention in LaborArts Make Work Visible Competition. She has been published by Hyperallergic and the LA Review of Books. She published her first book, Lord of Thundertown, with Ninestar Press in 2020. In February of 2023 she published her second book, Lockdown Laureate, with Castaigne Publishing. Her third book, Backmask, was published by Malarkey in June of 2023.
